The Top 5 Regrets Of The Dying
- I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
- I wish I hadn't worked so hard.
- I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.
- I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
- I wish that I had let myself be happier.

I'm a no BS soul and I love humans. I've always been drawn to what scares me--hospice, public speaking, improv. It's the thing that makes me a great coach. I'm committed to a fearless life, no matter what.
Over the past 20 years, I've worked hospice care, toured a one-woman show about hospice care, became an improviser and improv teacher, started my own public speaking business (including officiating dozens of weddings!), and now, with Big Time, I coach individuals and leaders who want to live and lead with intention, purpose, and happiness.
By way of educational street cred, here you go. I have a Bachelors in Community Studies from UC Santa Cruz, a Masters in Gerontology and Thanatology (Death, Dying + Grief) from the College of New Rochelle, I hold an Instructional Design Certification from NYU, and the designation of Professional Certified Coach (the second highest ranking) with the International Coach Federation. I've delivered over 10,000 hours of coaching, training and workshop facilitation for global brands like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, non-profits like New York Cares and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, universities including Columbia and NYU, and for countless start-ups, galleries, firms, solo-venturers, artists and others.
Professional 1:1 coaching, leadership training, and team development are the focuses of my practice. What makes me different from other coaches is my lighthearted, yet no-nonsense stand for personal and professional achievement.
My approach with clients is comprehensive (we talk about everything, not just what needs "improvement"), and my methodology is both ontological (who you are) and facilitative (how you do it).
When you work with me, you'll get results in ways you might not expect. This is often from practicing new and uncomfortable "ways of being" and taking uncomfortable actions on purpose.
I’m not into quick fixes. They don’t work. I show my clients how to transform in permanent ways so that their lives and businesses change for good.
Through our work, the power to create what you want becomes the reality of your daily existence with new levels of confidence, purpose and satisfaction.
I also once tricked Stephen Colbert into hugging me. Story available upon request. :)

Dr. Tim Merrick, ACCC
Executive and Life Coach, Big Time
While I haven’t hugged Stephen Colbert—yet—I’ve shared the stage with Hillary and Bill and I introduced Kirsten Gillibrand many times when I ran for the New York State Senate in 2006.
My life has been one of ongoing reinvention. Not because I have to but because I get to. I've founded, cultivated, and sold many successful businesses and have always partnered with like-minded humans who are dedicated to healing, health, success, and enlightenment.
Along the way I’ve become a doctor, musician, photographer, writer, pilot, vagabond, and snowboard instructor.
I’ve lived in a teepee, and built a log cabin.
My approach with clients is understanding where they are, and together, plotting their future like the true hero’s journey that it is.
Connection with our purpose, appreciation of our authentic selves, and taking full responsibility for the past, present and future--these are the steps to overcome life's obstacles, creating fulfillment and leading boldly.
When you work with me, you'll find the inner conviction that brings forth true confidence and momentum for producing results.
You'll learn how to let go of the stories you don't want to tell anymore, and become the author of your experience.
